Opened My Eyes

Lets keep it real ! We all have judged or shamed someone. Some of us are very vocal and say exactly what we think or feel, others will keep it to themselves. Regardless we have all passed judgement on others.

Over time I have realized that I "mom shame" or just "woman shame" way too much. After the birth of my second child I have learned to keep a lot of my opinions to myself so i don't offend anyone like i have in the past. I don't ever want to seem like a B***h, rude, or like im better than anyone else. Quite honestly im far from perfect and have been very accepting of all my faults and flaws as i continue to evolve.

I have also learned to be more understanding of others and their actions that i may or may not agree with. Although over time I've started to keep my opinions or judgement to myself, over the past couple weeks I've realized right or wrong i am entitled to my own opinion. Now how i deliver my thoughts, feelings, judgements, or opinions is what i need to work on. "It's not what you say, but how you say it".

In the past I've never really had a voice of my own, but once becoming a parent a part of me gained confidence to just say how i really feel. Now i am not proud of some of the things i have said about about other woman or just people in general. BUT i will not apologize for having my own opinion, however i will apologize if my delivery was insensitive or if i just simply come off rude. I have many flaws that i am becoming very aware of, i am a work in progress and i grow every day.

I have two little girls of my own and i want to teach them to love, respect, support, and empower themselves and others. So that being said I need to lead by example and so i vow to be a positive role model for them and also others.

Now speaking in general

COMMUNICATION is what this generation needs to work on. We are adults now and have to be held accountable of what we say and our actions. We should be able to voice our opinions but also be understanding of others opinions, regardless if we agree with it or not ! Once someone doesn't agree with us we are so quick to jump down the next persons throat instead of just having a "friendly debate".

I think social media has taken over and gave us some backbone behind our keyboards. All the negative things I see being said on social media is so toxic. Everyone is always arguing and bashing one an other, we argue over celebrities, athletes, politics, appearances and many other topics. We become so upset that someone may not view things how we view them that we begin to insult and say nasty uncalled for things to one another. Or if we can't convince some one to believe what we believe, to feel what we feel, to think what we think, and so on and so on we can't handle it. We fight for free speech but shut down anyone who we don't agree with. Respect has been thrown out the window and we are beating one another down.

We as a generation need to work on our communication and stick together cause these baby boomers are out to get us ! Time to take over our era !!

That’s the issue it’s a natural thing. We should all be able to say exactly how we feel in a respectful way. Given we have our moments but realizing there is a better way to say or approach things is all part of growing up.

We are all work in progress, we live in a world where shaming is just a natural thing, even if we don’t intend to actually do it. Sometimes I say comments and than in my head I’m like shit I should of just kept that to myself. Or sometimes we say because we are really trying to help the individuals.

I couldn’t agree more. I, as you may know, am very opionated and don’t have hair on my tongue. I though have learned that maybe sometimes my true friends would understand my advice or opinion seeing as i come off strong. You and I have both been in a situation that thankfully we were able to move forward from. I do believe speaking about mom shaming or just any type of shaming should be spoken about. Can’t wait to see what other topics you have in mind.
